Printer Friendly Version About the COTBC

Welcome to the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC)

The COTBC is the governing body responsible for regulating the practice of occupational therapy in B.C. Occupational therapists MUST be registered with the college in order to legally practice and use the title "occupational therapist" or "OT" in British Columbia. Failure to register is an offence and can result in disciplinary action and/or fines.

The college differs from professional associations or interest groups, which are voluntary and serve the interests of professionals. Our mandate is to protect the public interest by setting standards for practice and establishing programs to ensure occupational therapists practice safely and competently. We also investigate any reports or concerns about the practice of occupational therapists in B.C.

For information on registering with the COTBC, please see How to Register - Canadian Applicants go
