
Fluency Requirements
You must demonstrate evidence of oral and written fluency in English. If your first language or your language of occupational therapy instruction was not English, you will need to provide the college with official documentation that you have achieved an acceptable score on the COTBC-approved tests. Official test scores must be sent directly to the College from the testing agency.
Evidence of oral and written fluency in English can be demonstrated by:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
and
Test of Spoken English - Professional Version(TSE - P)
or
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
College Approved Tests and Scores
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – Acceptable score includes achieving at least 580 on the paper test, with at least 50 on each of the component areas or 237 on the computerized test, with at least 16 on the listening score, at least 18 on the Structure/Writing score and at least 17 on the Reading Score,
and
TSE – P (Test of Spoken English - Professional) – Acceptable score of at least 50.
or
IETLS (International English Language Testing System) Academic Version – Acceptable academic test score is an overall band score of 7.0 with a minimum band score of 7 on the speaking test.
