Essential Competencies Indicators Project
The Essential Competencies Indicators Project, a national project done by the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations (ACOTRO), was recently completed and adopted by the national group. This project represents the first time all provinces have worked together in partnership, and future similar partnership projects are planned. These indicators expand on the current essential competencies used by registrants.
The Indicators have now gone to the COTBC board for approval,. Once approved, the indicators will be sent to registrants.

Proposed Legislative Amendments to Bill 62 - Health Professions Amendment Act
The College received notice from the Ministry of Health Planning that proposed amendments to the Health Professions Act as outline in Bill 62 will occur following the resumption of the provincial legislature in October. The changes to the act will require the COTBC to review and revise the college's bylaws to ensure consistency with the new act.
